David Hayden is a commercial photographer and art director based in Pueblo, Colorado, whose work transforms the ordinary into visually striking narratives.

What sets Hayden apart is his collaborative approach. Whether working with brands, individuals, or organizations, he partners closely with clients to bring their visions to life, blending technical expertise and artistic sensitivity to craft compelling imagery. His long-standing role as the photographer in residence at Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center is a testament to his dedication to the arts and their mission. His work plays a vital role in their marketing and outreach efforts, helping to define their visual identity and connect with a broader audience.

With a background in Manufacturing Engineering, Hayden brings a problem-solving mindset to his photography, navigating challenges with both precision and creativity. His mastery of light, shadow, balance, and color gives his images a unique depth and emotion.

Hayden’s journey into photography was inspired by the book Do What You Love and the Money Will Follow. Driven by passion and a commitment to continuous improvement, he thrives in complex lighting situations, capturing storytelling moments and making the mundane extraordinary.

​

His work has also been exhibited internationally, including in London, Cape Town, Berlin, and Belgrade.

​

Above all, Hayden’s photography aims to engage and intrigue. He wants viewers to pause, to ask, “How did he do that?”, and to immerse themselves in the mood and story within his images.

EXHIBITIONS

To date, 25+ of his local interest photographs have appeared on the cover of The Pueblo West View.  His prize
winning photographs have been on display at Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center, Denver International Airport, Steel City Artworks, The Pueblo Art Guild, throughout the Pueblo City County Library District,  The Idea Place in downtown Rocky Ford, Gallery 313 In La Junta CO, Trinidad CO and his digital and printed images have been exhibited in 21 international galleries including the 5th Base Gallery, London,  ORMS Cape Town School of Photography, Cape Town, and New Moment Gallery, Belgrade, Serbia, BBA Circle, Berlin, Germany, Photosynthesis Gallery, Sofia, Bulgaria and many more..
